Ingredients:
1 cup red kidney beans (rajma), soaked overnight and boiled until tender1 onion, finely chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1 inch piece of ginger, grated
2-3 green chilies, chopped
2-3 tomatoes, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 bay leaf
2-3 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil or ghee
Chopped cilantro for garnish
Steamed Basmati rice for serving
Directions:
*Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
*Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Fry for a minute or two.
*Add the chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the tomatoes are fully cooked and soft.
*Add the boiled red kidney beans to the pan and mix well. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the beans are coated in the masala.
*Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with steamed Basmati rice.
