Recipe for Delicious Momos: A Taste of Tibet in Every Bite

Momos are a popular dumpling dish that originated in Tibet but are now enjoyed across many parts of Asia. Here's a recipe for preparing momos:




Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/2 lb ground chicken or pork
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Salt to taste



Directions:

*In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add water slowly and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
*In a separate mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or pork, onion, garlic, ginger, cilantro, black pepper, cumin powder, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix well.
*Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a thin sheet. Use a circular cookie cutter or a cup to cut the dough into circles.
*Take one circle of dough, and place a tablespoon of filling in the center. Fold the edges of the circle towards the center and pinch them together to seal the momo. Repeat with the remaining dough circles and filling.
*Steam the momos for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.

Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice. Enjoy!
