Crispy on the Outside, Soft on the Inside: Our Irresistible Appe Pan Aloo Tikki Recipe

Aloo Tikki is a popular Indian snack made with boiled and mashed potatoes, onions, spices, and breadcrumbs. It can be easily made in an Appe pan, which is a round-shaped cooking vessel with small moulds to make small round-shaped dishes like Appe and Aloo Tikki. Appe pan Aloo Tikki is a healthy and tasty snack that can be enjoyed with chutney or sauce.






Ingredients:


4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
Salt, to taste
1 tbsp oil
Coriander leaves, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions:


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, green chili, ginger paste, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal-sized portions and shape them into small round patties.
  3. Preheat the appe pan on medium heat. Grease the pan with a few drops of oil.
  4. Place the potato patties into the appe pan moulds. Cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Once the bottom of the patties turns golden brown, flip them over using a spoon or skewer. Cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove the patties from the pan and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
